February Backpacker: Been There, Done That

Wow, was quite surprised to get the February issue of Backpacker magazine and realize how many of their top hikes and top parks I've checked off the outdoors bucket list.

• Page 8: Bryce Canyon NP.  Hit it as part of my June 2012 West Trek. 
• Page 9: Vermillion Cliffs. June 2012. 
• Page 12: Ribbon Falls. June 2012. 
• Page 13: Matterhorn from Riffelsee. Was actually at Matterhorn at a very young ago and don't remember much. Really need to get back over to do some hiking in Europe, but too busy heading over every winter for skiing.
• Page 19: Haleakala NP. Visited and rode horses into the craters with my lovely wife on our honeymoon. 
• Page 26: New Hampshire White Mountains. Tackled in 2011 as part of an 11-peak conquest of the northeast. 

Comic(al) Injuries

Psoas. Flexor. Metatarsal. Why do my running injuries always sound like comic book characters?

I'm fully expecting my sports chiro to say, "looks like a micro-tear in your right Magneto and some damage to your Skeletor."
